Sam Esmail is an American film and television producer, director, and screenwriter best known as the creator, writer and director of the hit series “Mr. Robot” (2015–2019), starring Rami Malek and Christian Slater, on the USA Network. The show received two Golden Globe Awards, three Primetime Emmy Awards, and a Peabody Award.
Esmail also directed and produced the acclaimed Amazon Prime Video psychological thriller Homecoming (2018–2020), starring Julia Roberts and Janelle Monáe, produced USA’s Briarpatch in 2020, and as of 2021, Esmail is attached to produce several upcoming television series and films including “Gaslit” and “Angelyne,” for which he also serves as a writer.
