Egypt’s Foreign Minister conducts a two day visit to Washington DC March 26th-27th 2019
Egypt’s foreign minister Sameh Shoukry conducted a two day visit to Washington DC from March 26th to March 27th during which he met with Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and US national security advisor John Bolton, as well as members of Congress. In all his meetings Minister Shoukry highlighted the strategic partnership between Egypt and the United States, discussing ways of reinforcing relations between both countries in all fields. Shoukry emphasized the positive signs of Egypt’s economic recovery after implementing a comprehensive reform program with the support of the IMF, as well as the booming energy sector. He also tackled Egypt’s determination to promote religious freedoms in addition to its commitment to being a stabilizing force in the Middle East region.
