On Sunday, 4 March, President Abdel Fattah El Sisi received a telephone call from U.S. President Donald Trump.

According to a statement released by the Office of the Presidency, “President El Sisi and U.S. President Trump discussed ways to enhance Egyptian-American relations across various levels, in light of their strategic nature,” and “the two Presidents agreed to continue to work on further advancing bilateral cooperation in all areas in the coming period.”

President El Sisi and U.S. President Trump discussed ways to enhance Egyptian-American relations across various levels, in light of their strategic nature. The two Presidents agreed to continue to work on further advancing bilateral cooperation in all areas in the coming period.

The talks touched on developments in a range of regional dossiers, particularly in light of the tense situation in the region, in order to reach political solutions to the ongoing crises. The two Presidents also discussed efforts to combat terrorism.
